My mom called me the second she saw this because she grew up on the chanson records and I only knew him as the voice of the Witch of the Waste. Told her that and she laughed and said that's exactly right, he'd have loved playing a woman cursed to look like something she wasn't. 91 years old. That's a whole century of not looking away from himself.

okay so I keep starting this comment and deleting it. I think I first heard about this guy on some late night internet rabbit hole, had to be 2015 or so, a town in Quebec actually held a referendum to make an artist their king, 70 percent yes, and I remember telling my husband come look at this and he just said what and went back to whatever he was watching. anyway I never forgot it. a whole village voting a performance piece into being real. that's the kind of thing that sticks with you for no reason you can explain, it just does. 75. cancer apparently, for years. sorry, I didn't know him, I just think about that referendum more than I probably should. edit: his name was Denys, in case anyone else goes looking for this later like I did.

Read that FibroFighters line and my stomach just dropped. Lost my nephew to fibrolamellar at 23, same rare thing. 25 is nothing, it takes the good ones and doesn't explain itself.
