okay so this is weirdly hitting me, my dad used to read Křesťan feuilletons out loud at the kitchen table in Calgary when I was a kid, translating them as he went because we never had the Czech editions in English, and I didn't even really get the jokes half the time but I got that they were jokes, if that makes sense, like the rhythm of it. I think the one about the window was his favourite, dad's I mean. Anyway I saw the news this morning on a Czech forum my cousin posted in and just sat there for a minute. 83. edit: found out he sold like a quarter million books, that tracks, my dad's copies were basically falling apart
