My mother was an LPN too, trained around the same years Barbara did, and when I showed her this she just said nurses like that held whole towns together and nobody ever wrote it down. Eighty five years and a working life nobody outside Centre County will ever see the weight of. That's not nothing.

My sister called me from Atlanta to tell me, she knew I'd want to know. I don't follow Israeli politics but that song, the one about the medic, my father used to play a recording of it when I was a girl and he explained what it was about. 80 years old. Rest well.

Didn't know a thing about horse racing until my neighbor made me watch the Gold Cup replay on her laptop a few years back, just to see this one colt grind it out. Nineteen years old. That's a long life for anything that runs that hard.

Just watched a clip of him leading the chanting in that Majuli temple a couple weeks ago, sent to me by a friend who'd been to Assam. A hundred and one years old and still singing lead. I don't know much about Sattriya but I knew I was watching something real.
