I saw this come up on my feed this morning while I was out checking on the tomatoes, of all things, and it just stopped me cold. A 26 year old girl, Dorking Avenue, 2am, those details keep going round in my head and I don't even live anywhere near Manchester. I don't know her, never will, but I've got a daughter about that age and I ended up calling her just to hear her voice. Edit: sorry, rambling, I just can't stop thinking about her mother tonight.

Alisha Samuels was a 26 year old woman from the Newton Heath area of Manchester, England, who was killed in a fatal stabbing in the early hours of 15 October 2026. She was not a public figure before her death, and little has been published so far about her life, background or occupation. She has become known to the wider public only through the tragic circumstances of her killing, which Greater Manchester Police is treating as murder.
According to Greater Manchester Police, officers were called to a report of a disturbance on Dorking Avenue in Newton Heath at around 2am on Thursday 15 October 2026. They found Samuels with serious stab wounds, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. A Major Incident Team was set up and a murder investigation was launched the same day.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that three people were taken into custody in connection with the killing, including a 25 year old man arrested on suspicion of murder. Detective Inspector Paul Costello of GMP described the attack as an awful and tragic one and sought to reassure the local community that people were in custody as the investigation continued, while appealing for anyone with information or footage from the area to come forward.
Samuels was named publicly by police later on the day of her death. Her family, through police, asked for privacy while they come to terms with what GMP described as a devastating loss. Tributes to Samuels began to appear on social media within hours of her name being released, with friends describing her warmly. One friend wrote on Facebook that they could not believe she was gone, calling her a beautiful soul. A new forensic tent was erected at the scene on Dorking Avenue the day after her death and road closures remained in place as officers continued to gather evidence and speak to witnesses.
As of the time of writing, no further details of Alisha Samuels's life before her death, such as her occupation, education or family circumstances, have been made public. This page will be updated as verified information becomes available.
