My mom called me about this at like 2am my time. Growing up she ran the Head Start room my little sister went through, mom says Mrs. Reynolds used to sing with the kids every morning. Strange to hear news like that so far from home.

Bethany Anne Reynolds, known to her family as Bethany and to her grandchildren as Mimi, was a mother, grandmother and early childhood educator from Michigan. She was not a public figure in the conventional sense, and no Wikipedia page or broad biographical record exists for her. What is known about her life comes from the obituary published by Ofield Funeral Home of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and from the family's tributes shared after her death.
She was born Bethany Anne Kerr on January 8, 1955, in Flint, Michigan, the youngest of four children of Alexander Keith Kerr and Hilda Marcele Kerr of Grand Blanc, Michigan. She graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1973, where she sang in the school choir and formed a lifelong friendship with her classmate Lynn Hummel. She went on to study at Anderson College and Montcalm Community College, training in early childhood education.
Professionally, Bethany Reynolds worked for Head Start, the federally funded early learning program for children from low income families, and she also volunteered with the Agape Home School Group. Her family's tributes describe a woman who found deep purpose in working with young children and in later years took particular pride in being a grandmother, a role she embraced with warmth and humor.
She is remembered above all within her family circle. She raised three daughters, Julie, Lindsay and Patti, and was grandmother to six grandchildren, who called her Mimi. Those who wrote about her after her death described her generosity, her sense of humor and the closeness of the bond she kept with her family, including regular visits and sleepovers with her grandchildren.
Bethany Anne Reynolds died on September 30, 2026, at the age of 71, in Lake Odessa, Michigan, where she had been living. Her death was announced through an obituary placed by Ofield Funeral Home. No cause of death has been made public. She is remembered by her family as a devoted mother and grandmother whose influence on the children she taught and raised was, by their account, the central achievement of her life.
