Daniel Bifulco was an Argentine actor and comedian best remembered as one of Los Jaimitos, the trio of cheeky schoolboys who became one of the most popular comedy sketches on Marcelo Tinelli's VideoMatch. He was found dead at his home in the Buenos Aires neighbourhood of Villa Urquiza on 4 November 2026, at the age of 56.

Born Daniel Alberto Bifulco in Buenos Aires on 26 January 1970, he trained as an actor and worked in theatre before television brought him wide recognition. With Roberto Peña and Rodrigo "Vagoneta" Rodríguez he formed Los Jaimitos, three mischievous boys in caps and braces who ran through the day's news in rhyming songs, each line ending in a cheeky double meaning in the style of the Jaimito of Argentine schoolyard jokes.

Bifulco liked to recall that the trio's first appearance on VideoMatch was on 5 April 2001, the same day his daughter Luciana was born. His colleagues agreed to record their segment at dawn so that he could get to the clinic in time, and he returned to the programme that day as a new father.

He went on to appear in Showmatch, including the Gran Cuñado impersonation segments, and in Paraíso terrenal, Si querés reír, reí, Panam y Circo, Polémica en el bar, Los Roldán, La niñera, Quitapenas, La peluquería and Señores papis, among other programmes. On stage he was a regular in comedy revues in Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata, and in 2024 he worked again with Roberto Peña on Noche de Peña on Crónica TV. In 2026 Los Jaimitos reunited for videos about the football World Cup, including an appearance on Infobae's coverage hosted by Tinelli.

According to his friend and fellow comedian Alfredo Silva, Bifulco's mother found him on the floor of his home. Early reports pointed to a heart problem, and prosecutors ordered a post mortem examination, as is routine in a sudden death. Days earlier he had signed to appear in the summer season of La magia de la risa in Mar del Plata. The Argentine Association of Actors and Actresses and many comedians who had shared stages with him paid tribute.

In their own words

“No me voy a olvidar nunca de cómo nacieron los Jaimitos porque fue el 5 de abril del 2001, el día que nació mi hija, el mismo día.”

Recalling the trio's debut, quoted by Infobae, November 2026
