Dorothy Ann Sneider built a life around faith, family, and the everyday work of making a home feel loved. She died peacefully at home on 16 September 2026 in Lambertville, Michigan, surrounded by her family, at the age of 83. She was born Dorothy Ann Suchy on 22 February 1943 in Toledo, Ohio, to Karl and Luella (Kujawski) Suchy, and she carried that Toledo childhood into a lifetime of parish loyalty and family care.

She was a lifelong parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, a member of Regina Coeli Grade School's first graduating class, and a 1961 graduate of Central Catholic High School. For a time she worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Harold Gross, but her true vocation was as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and homemaker. On 4 May 1963 she married Michael L. Sneider. Their marriage lasted sixty three years, a partnership marked by ordinary days made meaningful by presence and routine.

Dorothy loved cooking and baking for her family, tending the flowers in her garden, and showing up for children's and grandchildren's sports and school activities. She was the kind of grandmother who remembered schedules and packed treats. Family vacations to Michigan's Upper Peninsula and North Carolina's Outer Banks were among the shared memories her loved ones hold close. She was preceded in death by her parents and by brothers Karl and Jerry Suchy.

She is survived by her husband Michael; children Jeff (Dee) Sneider, Lori Krell, and Kristi (Steve) Chalupnik; grandchildren Sarah Sneider, Chris Sneider, Haleigh (John) Buzynski, Maddie (Jeff) Booth, Rachel (Justin) Beer, and Gabrielle Chalupnik; and great granddaughter Corinne Booth.

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 26 September 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, with inurnment at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery. Arrangements are with Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe. Memorial Mass intentions may be given to Regina Coeli Church.

Her story is not one of public office or celebrity. It is the story of a Catholic woman from Toledo and Lambertville who measured a good life in meals shared, gardens tended, and grandchildren cheered from the bleachers. This memorial is a place to light a candle for Dorothy and to remember the quiet constancy she offered the people she loved.
