Seth Kwame Dzokoto was a Ghanaian actor, comedian, broadcaster and politician who became a household name as Judge Koboo in the television sitcom Efiewura and as the host of Edziban, the TV3 food and tourism programme that toured Ghana's food joints and local cuisine. He died on 22 October 2026 in Tarkwa, aged 51, after collapsing during a live radio discussion.

Born in 1975, Dzokoto traced his roots to the Volta Region but grew up partly in Takoradi, where he lived with his parents and fell in love with the local Fante slang that later shaped his comic catchphrases. He was educated at Tarkwa Secondary School and Cape Coast Technical, went on to the Nautical College at Nungua, and later studied business administration at the Kumasi campus of the University of Education, Winneba.

His career ran across radio, television, film and advertising. He worked at Skyy Power FM in Takoradi and as a drive time host at Hello FM in Kumasi, voiced many radio commercials, and appeared in films including For Girls, Monster, Wazenger and Fatal Lust. Efiewura made him famous, and Edziban gave him a long run as a presenter celebrating Ghanaian food. He later also appeared in the comedy series Osumesi, and shortly before his death he was named in the cast of The 70 Slate, a film project marking Ghana's 70th anniversary of independence.

Dzokoto also entered politics. He was the National Democratic Congress parliamentary candidate for Tarkwa-Nsuaem in the 2016 general election and lost to George Mireku Duker of the New Patriotic Party. He then turned to further study, and in August 2025 he graduated from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College with a master's degree in defence and international politics.

In September 2026 he publicly dismissed rumours of his death, saying he was managing high blood pressure and diabetes and had undergone surgery abroad with support from the businessman Ibrahim Mahama. On the morning of Thursday 22 October 2026 he collapsed while appearing as a panellist on Owass Radio in Tarkwa, in the Western Region, and was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. The National Democratic Congress Western Regional communication officer, Kirk Mensah, confirmed his death. No medical cause had been made public.

He is remembered for the warmth and wit he brought to Ghanaian homes as Judge Koboo, and for an on-screen curiosity about everyday food and life that made Edziban one of the country's best-known lifestyle programmes.

51. That's the number that's sticking with me. Collapsed during a live broadcast, still working right up to the end. Wishing his family strength through this.
