Luciano Pavarotti brought opera to stadium audiences, first as one of the Three Tenors and then through concerts in parks across the world. His Nessun dorma became the anthem of the 1990 World Cup. He died of pancreatic cancer at 71.

My dad introduced me to Luciano's work when I was a kid. We talked about it for hours. Today I'm thinking of both of them.

My grandmother loved Luciano. When she died we played their work at the funeral. Now they're both gone. Strange how connected it all is.
