Patricia Ann Hopkins, known to family and friends as Patti, died on October 16, 2026, in South Carolina. She was 68 years old. Patricia was not a public figure in the conventional sense of the word: she did not hold public office, lead a company, or work in entertainment, and no news organisation covered her life or death. What survives of her story comes from the obituary published by her family through Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes in Simpsonville, South Carolina, where she lived at the time of her death.

Patricia was born on January 15, 1958, in Portland, Maine, the daughter of Earl and Eleanor Martin, both of whom died before her. Little detail has been made public about her early life, her schooling, or her working years, and no occupation is recorded in the obituary notice that her family released.

By the account her family gave, Patricia was remembered above all for the warmth she brought to the people around her. The obituary described her as a lover of life who approached every day with enthusiasm, and who had a particular gift for organising trips and turning ordinary occasions into memorable ones for the people she cared about. She was an enthusiastic shopper who enjoyed browsing QVC, and she spent many years as a competitive bowler, a pastime through which she built lasting friendships.

Patricia was the mother of two children, Connor Hopkins and Kalie Hopkins, and she was survived by her brother, Michael Martin. Her family described her children as the pride and joy of her life. No husband is named in the published obituary, and it is not publicly known whether she was married or divorced at the time of her death.

Patricia's death has not been explained publicly. Her family's obituary notice does not state a cause, and no reputable news source has reported one. As with many private individuals, the family chose to focus their public tribute on her personality and the people she loved rather than on the circumstances of her passing.

68. That's exactly how old my aunt was when we lost her, same year even. Never met Patricia, just saw this come up, but it put a lump in my throat all the same. Hope her kids are doing okay.

Patricia Ann Hopkins died on October 16, 2026, at the age of 68. Her family's obituary, published through Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast Chapel, in Simpsonville, South Carolina, gives the date of her death but does not state where she died or what caused it. No cause of death has been made public, and no medical or official source has issued a statement on the matter.

The news of her death was announced by her family rather than by any news organisation, and it has not been reported in local or national media. The obituary, written by her relatives, remembered her as someone who filled every room she entered with warmth and laughter, and it highlighted her devotion to her children, her enjoyment of bowling, and her enthusiasm for shopping and travel planning.

A public visitation is scheduled for Thursday, October 22, 2026, from noon to 12:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast Chapel, at 1604 NE Main Street in Simpsonville, South Carolina, to be followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. the same day. A graveside burial will be held privately by the family afterward.

Because Patricia was not a figure of public note, tributes have so far come only from family and friends through the funeral home's online guestbook rather than from public figures, colleagues, or fans. This page will be updated if further information about the circumstances of her death or additional public tributes becomes available.
