My dad had a Trunk Records compilation with a sleeve Paul Flack designed, I must have stared at that artwork a hundred times as a kid without knowing the name behind it. Heard about this scrolling through the news tonight and just sat with it for a while. 55 is no age at all. Thinking of his mum and his kids.

Paul Flack was a British graphic designer and artist from Norwich, best known publicly as the older brother of the television presenter Caroline Flack. Away from that connection he had a long career in design, working on record sleeves, branding and illustration for the music industry, with his own practice built up over more than two decades after starting out in London's print trade.
Flack was born in London in 1971 and grew up with his sisters in Norfolk. He later trained himself into a career in design, working first from a studio in London before relocating his practice to Norwich. He spent years working within the music industry, most notably producing record sleeve artwork for the cult label Trunk Records, and his design and illustration work appeared in publications including Creative Review, Design Week and Vogue, alongside commercial clients such as EMI, River Island and Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
Flack became known to a wider public after the death of his younger sister Caroline in February 2020. Caroline Flack, the former Love Island and X Factor presenter, took her own life at the age of 40 while awaiting trial on an assault charge she denied. Paul became one of the most visible members of the Flack family in the years that followed, speaking publicly about grief and mental health and appearing, alongside his mother and sisters, in the 2025 documentary Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth, which examined the circumstances around her death.
Paul Flack was found unresponsive at his home on Sandringham Road in Norwich on 21 June 2026, Father's Day, and died later that evening at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. He was 55. A provisional post mortem gave the cause of death as cardiac arrest brought on by hanging, and an inquest subsequently heard that he had been drinking in the hours before his death and had never fully recovered from the loss of his sister six years earlier.
News of his death prompted an outpouring of tributes from friends, former colleagues and mental health campaigners. The organisers of Flackstock, the mental health awareness festival set up in Caroline's memory, said they were "beyond heartbroken" by the news and asked for time to support the Flack family. Friends described Paul Flack as kind, funny and devoted to his family, and remembered him for his warmth and sense of humour. His final public Instagram post, a tribute to Caroline written six months after her death, remained unchanged on his account until his own passing.
