Samuel Okafor drove the number 86 bus across Manchester for twenty-two years and coached the Moss Side under-12s for nineteen of them. Born in Enugu in 1971, he came to England in 1996 and never lost his accent or his conviction that every child could be good at something if you gave them a ball and some encouragement.
He is survived by his wife Grace, his sons David and Joseph, and several hundred former players who still call him Coach.
