Sverre Horge was a Norwegian actor and stage technician whose weathered face and gentle comic timing made him one of the most recognisable supporting players in Norwegian film and television for more than fifty years. He was best known as Sverre Borge in the TVNorge Christmas series Nissene på låven, a role that came to him almost by chance.

Born in Oslo on 10 May 1944, Horge worked for many years as a stage technician at Oslo Nye Teater. He began appearing on screen in the late 1960s, with an early part in Kilroy in 1969 and a role in the 1971 film Voldtekt, and in the 1970s and 1980s he became a regular face in the films of the director duo Wam and Vennerød, including Det tause flertall, Hvem har bestemt? and Liv og død. He also played in Eddie og Suzanne, the English language thriller Ransom, Pøbel and Nedtur, as well as having a small part in the Oscar nominated Elling in 2001.

That same year the comedians behind Nissene på låven were tipped off by actor Trond Fausa Aurvåg about a friendly theatre technician at Oslo Nye with a memorable look. Espen Eckbo later recalled that they gave Horge a small role, but he proved so good and so enjoyable to work with that they wrote him into 20 episodes, and he returned a decade later in Nissene over skog og hei. He went on to appear in Tonight med Timothy Dahle, Seks som oss, Lilyhammer, Hellfjord, Dag and Monster, and from 2006 he was a fixture of Håvard Lilleheie's Manshow, playing Emil's father and the character Rolf "Ni-seks" Hansen.

In 2007 he played the title role in the animated short film Janus, which won the Amanda Award for best short film. His last screen roles were in the short films Antikk and Liker stilen in 2020. He was the father of the actor Henrik Horge.

Horge died on the morning of Sunday 25 October 2026, aged 82. His wife, Marit Vollen, announced his death on Facebook the next day, writing that her dearest Sverre had passed away and would be deeply missed. No cause of death was made public. Colleagues remembered him warmly: Eckbo said his energy on screen carried the mark of a life lived, adding depth, warmth and credibility to the humour, and Lilleheie praised his lovely timing and called him kind, interested and funny.

Only found Nissene på låven a couple of Christmases back, some clip doing the rounds online, no idea what they were saying but that face made me laugh anyway. 82 is a good innings. Sorry for his family.
