Toto Warsito was an Indonesian voice actor and dubbing director whose voice was heard by Indonesian audiences for more than three decades, first in the Latin American telenovelas that filled SCTV's schedule in the 1990s and later in the Indonesian-language versions of some of the most popular anime of the 2020s. To a new generation of fans he was, above all, the Indonesian voice of Muzan Kibutsuji, the demon king of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He died on the evening of Wednesday, 7 October 2026, at the age of 53. No cause of death has been made public.
Little has been published about his early life. A memorial card shared by ATM Studio, the dubbing house he worked with in his final years, gave his years as 1973 to 2026. A grave marker shown in a short video posted to his own YouTube channel two days after his death reads "H. Warsito bin Sutowijoyo", giving his name as Warsito, son of Sutowijoyo, with the honorific used in Indonesia for Muslims who have completed the Hajj.
Warsito began his career in 1993 with Arvisco, a studio that the Indonesian anime outlet KAORI Nusantara describes as legendary. His first wave of recognition came through dubbing for SCTV, the national network then known for broadcasting imported Latin American telenovelas in Indonesian. In the telenovela Amigos por siempre he voiced Neftali Guemes. On the animated Jumanji series, which also aired on SCTV, he voiced Van Pelt, the big game hunter who keeps chasing Alan Parrish through the world of the game. Over the following decades he worked across films, series and cartoons, and his own YouTube channel described him as a professional dubber and dialogue director with more than 25 years in the field.
His career found a second and much wider audience after 2021, when the anime distributor Muse Indonesia began adding Indonesian voice tracks to its licensed series, recorded at ATM Studio. In the Indonesian dub of Demon Slayer he voiced Muzan, the series' central villain, as well as Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, the demon Gyutaro in the Entertainment District arc, and a number of the older supporting characters, including Sakonji Urokodaki and the hero Tanjiro's father, according to KAORI Nusantara. In 2022 he was cast as Henry Henderson, the history teacher and housemaster at Eden Academy, in the Indonesian version of Spy x Family, and he later voiced the dwarf warrior Eisen in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.
When Muse Indonesia set out to give its Indonesian dubbing cast more public credit, Warsito was one of the first voices it showcased. On 22 June 2022 he joined Adya Maulana, the Indonesian voice of Loid Forger, for a live online conversation on Muse Indonesia's YouTube channel called #Museminar. Asked by a viewer whether he had a new project, he said he had just started narrating something that might be an anime, adding that he had only just recorded a sample.
Away from the studio, Warsito ran a YouTube channel under the name PAKDE TO. He used it to teach, posting a series called Belajar Dubbing (Learn Dubbing) in which he worked through film dialogue at a home microphone, and he also shared song covers, poetry readings and recitations of the Islamic call to prayer. In his later years the channel also carried satirical songs and poems on Indonesian religious and political debates.
His death was first announced by Voice Institute Indonesia, a voice acting school, on its Instagram account. "Safe travels, Toto Warsito. Thank you for bringing so many characters to life through your voice," the school wrote. The news was carried by KAORI Nusantara, by the Jakarta news site Medcom.id on 8 October, and then internationally by Voice Over Herald and OtakuKart. Fans and dubbing accounts on X shared clips of his performances, noting how many people had grown up with his voice without ever knowing his name.
He is remembered as one of the veterans who gave Indonesia's young anime dubbing industry a professional foundation, bringing three decades of craft from telenovelas and cartoons to a new generation of viewers.
