Troels Mylenberg was a Danish journalist, editor, author and television presenter who spent three decades covering Danish politics and, from 2021, presented TV 2's main evening news programmes. He died on 31 October 2026 at a hospice on South Funen, aged 56, after a long illness with cancer.

Born in Hørsholm on 24 April 1970, Mylenberg trained at the Danish School of Journalism and worked as a political reporter and editor at Weekendavisen, Dagen and Ekstra Bladet. In 2003 he left daily journalism to become principal of Vallekilde Folk High School, and in 2005 he became head of the Centre for Journalism at the University of Southern Denmark.

He returned to political reporting in 2008 on Berlingske's Christiansborg desk, then became a partner in the communications firm Kontrabande and wrote for the magazine Ræson. In 2010 he was appointed political editor of Fyens Stiftstidende, and in 2011 he became editor in chief of Fyns Amts Avis in Svendborg, later also serving as development director and editor in chief at Jysk Fynske Medier. He joined TV 2 in 2018 as political editor and on 1 May 2021 became one of the presenters of TV 2 Nyhederne.

Alongside his journalism Mylenberg wrote several books on politics, the media and football, among them En anden sandhed, about leading politicians on the campaign trail, Det store scoop, about journalism under pressure, and Verdens bedste, a book about the footballer Michael Laudrup.

Mylenberg fell ill with cancer at the start of 2025. He was later declared free of the disease, but early in 2026 he said publicly that it had returned and could not be cured. He died after a short stay at a hospice, with his whole family gathered around him. His family said he would be remembered for his great love, warmth and the humour he kept to the very end. He lived on the island of Thurø near Svendborg with his wife, Lis, and the couple had four children. At his own wish, an informal memorial gathering was arranged at the Borgerforeningen in Svendborg on 1 December.
