My dad used to tell us about the jar of clean water and the jar of dirty water he held up running for office in 66, he kept a photo of it in his files from his old union days. Heard about this on my lunch break today while weeding the tomatoes and just sat there a minute. Pennsylvania still has clean air and water in its constitution because of him, that's not nothing.

My pastor quoted him during Lent about hospitality and listening. I looked up more of his work after that. The way he talked about silence and community, especially at the end with Casa della Madia, reminded me why I stay Catholic. Peace to him.
