Read about this guy for the first time last year, down a rabbit hole after some documentary mentioned Bougainville. Spent people's whole savings on a currency that never existed and somehow ran a kingdom out of a village for twenty years. Strange one to end up fascinated by from Illinois of all places.

Saw this come through on a Pennsylvania news feed my aunt shares from Jeannette. Never knew her, just struck by the Penn State mention, I went there too a decade behind her probably. 53 is no age at all. Hope her animals are being looked after.

My dad picked up California's Cornerstone at a used bookstore in Old Town when I was maybe twelve, on a family trip out from Illinois. He read parts of it out loud in the car on the drive back to the hotel. Didn't know until today that woman taught at USD for almost fifty years.

My parents took me to see a show at the Jungle when I was eight. I remember being amazed at how real everything looked, how much detail was in every corner of the stage. Didn't know until later who made that happen.
