Studied abroad in Bulawayo in 2003 and my host family had Sinjalo on every single night. I didn't understand half the Ndebele but Foromani's face did all the work. Still think about that show twenty years later.

75. Never heard of him before today but a village schoolmaster who wrote forty books for kids is something. Thinking of his wife Baniya and their sons.

Never knew the name until I looked it up after reading about Yasemin years ago. Production design isn't something I usually notice but that film actually looked lived in, not like a set. Didn't know who built it until today.

Was just reading an old piece on the gum disease diabetes link last week, saw his name in it, had no idea he'd just died. My dad's a dentist and swears by that research. Weird timing.

Owo Blow to Netflix. From mechanic to cinema king is not luck. That's craft and heart. Condolences to Kira, Lima, and the whole family.

Seven decades of work. Started on stage, ended on screen, and never lost the thread. That kind of consistency doesn't happen by accident.

None of us do. She kept playing right through it, that's the part that gets me.
