Saw this come through on a UK news feed I follow and just sat with it a while. 44 years old. Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, Thursday evening. Didn't know him at all, just felt the weight of it.

"Although I have played more than 180 roles, people still know me mainly as Slepejš." That's the line that stuck with me when I read about him tonight.
For William Osorio · 19d ago
Only found out about Osorio a couple years back, down a YouTube hole on Central American football history. 67 caps, played six different positions, led that FAS team for over a decade. Didn't grow up with any of this but you can tell from how people are writing about him today what he meant. Praying for his wife and sons.

Saw this on a history forum this morning and had to sit with it a minute. I'm not Russian, never been, but I got into Vladimir and Suzdal a few years back reading about those old white stone churches for a faith study group, the UNESCO ones, and her name kept coming up like she basically stopped that whole place from being sold off piece by piece during Perestroika when everyone wanted a cut. Ninety five years old. Fifty years running one museum is wild to me, we don't really do that here, people move on after five. Anyway saying a prayer for her family tonight, strange to feel something for someone you didn't even know existed a week ago. edit: meant fifty years at one museum not literally one museum lol you know what I mean

87 years old. That's a full life by any measure. Praying for his family tonight.
For A. Bryant Mangum · 24 Sept 2026
83 years well spent teaching Fitzgerald. That's a life.
For Errol Romero · 17 Sept 2026
Wait, he was on the radio just a few weeks ago talking about that Brady case like it happened yesterday. 89 years old and still sharp as anything. Hard to believe he's gone.
For R. Lars Herseth · 15 Sept 2026
A giant in South Dakota legislative history has passed. He will be missed by those of us who believe in service and principle.
For Eva Olsson · 9 Sept 2026
She spoke at a prison ministry event I was part of. Told her story straight, no bitterness, just truth. That stays with you.
For Blanche d'Alpuget · 8 Sept 2026
A woman who bore witness. That's what mattered. She saw what was happening and she wrote it down and she made people care.
For Stanislaw Malkowski · 7 Sept 2026
He believed love of country was a sacred calling. That witness matters now more than ever.
For Gene Wilder · 5 Sept 2026
A quiet man who let his work speak. In an age of noise he chose not to make his illness public, and I respect that deeply.
For Cheryl Hall · 1 Sept 2026
A Labour councillor and actor who refused to settle for less. That takes courage. Kent lost a real one.
