okay so this is going to sound strange but I read about him last year when he became the oldest man in Europe and I could not stop thinking about it, like there was a person alive who was captured on Rhodes in 1943 and also lived to see whatever this year is. I told my mum about him on the phone and she said imagine everything he saw and I said imagine the wine, he apparently drank his own wine every day, that detail wouldn't leave me. anyway I never met him obviously, I'm in Wisconsin, but I looked up Avigliano on a map and just sat with it for a while. 112 years. edit: he stopped working the fields at 106, SIX, I keep coming back to that
