I only read about him this morning, scrolling before church actually, and it stopped me completely. A physicist who became an ambassador and then spent decades looking after Hindus and Buddhists and Christians in his own country, that is such an unusual life, isn't it, most people pick one lane. I don't know enough about Bangladesh to say anything clever but the bit about Jagannath Hall stayed with me, him being provost there for Hindu students, that quiet kind of looking after people that never makes headlines until someone dies and you realise how much they were holding up. 77 is no age really. Sending something kind to his daughters, whoever reads this. Sorry, rambling, I just found it moving.

Dad rang me the second he saw it, he did his national service the same decade and always said men like that don't make them any more. I only knew the name from a documentary clip somebody shared last year, ninety four is a proper innings though.
