My dad called me at 6am my time just to tell me, he's been an Arsenal season ticket holder since the 90s and Ken Friar was the first name he ever taught me alongside the players. 92 years old, more than seventy of them at one club. That kind of loyalty barely exists anymore.

My mum called me at six in the morning my time just to tell me, she knew I had that old print of his hanging in my hallway. 101 years old. I didn't even know his name until she said it, just that I loved the colours.
