What a life in film. From shooting Eastwood to directing Van Damme to teaching a whole generation how to do it right with what you have. He'll be missed by everyone who loves cinema made with real craft.

I saw him speak in Strasbourg in the 1990s. So clear, so passionate about bringing democracy to the institutions. The Parliament wouldn't be what it is without him.

A father of six who lived on a farm and chose family over the Hollywood machine. That's a life well lived, however short.

I grew up watching him in California in the 70s and 80s. He could break your heart on screen and make you laugh the next minute. What a gift he had. The world feels quieter without him.
