Husky Kihal

Husky Kihal (born 31 December 1961 in Lyon; died 4 September 2026, aged 64) was a French actor of cinema, television and theatre, and occasionally a writer-director of short films. For millions of France 2 viewers he was Henri Fournier (also spelled Henry in English-language summaries), the forensic pathologist of the detective series Astrid et Raphaelle, which began in 2019. Beside Sara Mortensen (Astrid Nielsen) and Lola Dewaere (Raphaelle Coste), he turned a supporting role into one of the show's emotional anchors: initially reserved toward the lead investigator, Fournier grew into a professional ally drawn to Astrid's acuity, mixing scientific rigor with an unexpected humanity that audiences came to love.

He was found at his home. His agent Sophie Lemaitre told AFP that the causes of death were not yet known, and she posted a public farewell calling him "un merveilleux comedien et un ami des plus precieux," adding that "Husky aimait la vie" and that he would leave "un vide immense." Co-stars answered within hours. Sara Mortensen wrote "Mon Kiki, je t'aime pour toute la vie" and, in another message, asked how she (and Astrid) could go on without him. Lola Dewaere posted photos from set with the line "Salut mon sacre Husky... a la r'voyure...! Tu vas beaucoup beaucoup beaucoup nous manquer." Friend and fellow performer Jean-Luc Lemoine recalled shared years from Folies Pigalle to rue Saint-Maur, late-night cooking, short films, and their faux comic duo "Paco et Mick," noting that when Kihal later chose other projects Lemoine went solo and that choice led to Lemoine's first one-man show.

Before Astrid et Raphaelle made his face nationally familiar, Kihal had spent roughly two decades as a reliable French supporting player. Cinema credits from the late 1990s onward include Recto/verso (1999), Nos vies heureuses, Le Battement d'ailes du papillon, J'invente rien, Taxi 4 (Gerard Krawczyk), Le Nom des gens, Le Vilain, Ma part du gateau (Cedric Klapisch), La Vie scolaire (Grand Corps Malade and Mehdi Idir), Hors normes (Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache), and Les Tuche 4. Television work was even denser: Plus belle la vie (as Jipe Martineau), En famille, Avocats et Associes, HPI, Alice Nevers, Les Bracelets rouges, Tandem, L'Effondrement, Rebecca, Fugueuse, Meurtres dans le Cantal, and many more genre appearances. English Wikipedia summarises more than 150 film and television credits between about 1997 and 2026. His agency card still listed Astrid et Raphaelle season 6 (2025) and further 2026 work including season 7 and an Alexandra Ehle crossover, underlining that he remained an active series regular until his death. Season 6, aired in late 2025, drew more than four million viewers per episode according to BFMTV and TF1 Info.

Theatre and shorts filled the gaps between screen jobs. Agency and press notes place him on stage from the mid-1990s (including Moliere and Shakespeare credits on the Sophie Lemaitre resume) and behind the camera on shorts such as work associated with Le Rendez-vous (1999) and later pieces including Out of Frame / Hors Champ (2018) per some secondary summaries, plus a run of Kemar-related shorts in the 2020s listed on French Wikipedia. Friends remembered him as game for experiments. He did not cultivate tabloid celebrity; public knowledge of spouse, children or formal schooling is thin to nonexistent in the reliable sources checked for this brief.

He died at 64. A specific medical cause was not made public. The preferred death date for People Forever is 4 September 2026, matching English and French Wikipedia and the Deaths in September 2026 listing; AlloCine's report that he died on 3 September is noted as a discrepancy, not silently preferred.
