Louis Armstrong took jazz from the streets of New Orleans and turned it into an art of the soloist. His trumpet and gravel voice made him one of the most loved entertainers of his century.

My dad introduced me to Louis's work when I was a kid. We talked about it for hours. Today I'm thinking of both of them.
