My dad introduced me to Marie's work when I was a kid. We talked about it for hours. Today I'm thinking of both of them.
Their story
Marie Curie discovered the elements polonium and radium and coined the word radioactivity. She was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize and remains the only person to win in two different sciences, physics in 1903 and chemistry in 1911. She died of aplastic anaemia caused by years of exposure to radiation.
