I met Jane once, very briefly, and they were kind to a nervous stranger. That's what I'll remember.
Their story
Jane Goodall went to Gombe in Tanzania in 1960 with no degree and a notebook, and discovered that chimpanzees make and use tools. She spent her last decades travelling almost constantly for conservation, and died during a speaking tour at 91.
In their own words
“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”
