My dad used to put on old Tour de France VHS tapes on Sunday mornings and the 1983 one was his favorite, he'd point at the screen every time Arroyo climbed the Puy de Dôme and say watch this part. I never understood a word of Spanish commentary but I understood that climb. Heard the news from my dad over the phone this morning and neither of us really knew what to say for a minute.
