Winston Churchill led Britain through the Second World War as prime minister, rallying the country with speeches in its darkest year. He won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1953 and was given a state funeral at 90.

My grandmother loved Winston. When she died we played their work at the funeral. Now they're both gone. Strange how connected it all is.
