so I'm sitting in a hostel in Chiang Mai of all places, half watching some trivia show, and my phone just buzzes with this. weird because I only found Died Pretty like two years ago through a random algorithm thing, Harness Up came on a drive playlist and I didn't skip it, which for me is basically a five star review. anyway I looked up the drummer after and it's this guy who apparently taught English out here for years, same country I'm backpacking through right now, that's a strange thing to sit with at 1am. didn't know him, never saw them live, just liked the song more than I expected to. edit: just read he was in and out of the band for like three decades, that's a long time to keep coming back to something
