ok so I did not grow up with this band at all, I'm from Ohio, but my college roommate was Australian and she used to play Beds Are Burning while she cooked, like every single time, and I never asked her why and now I kind of wish I had. anyway I read he was 70. pancreatic cancer. that's young honestly. I don't really have a point here I just keep thinking about her kitchen and that song playing. ok that's it I guess

Just read he had nearly 75 goals across his time at Comunicaciones. Fourteen seasons of pure commitment to one club. That's rare now.
For James Wehr · 13 Sept 2026
Never met him but watched every Saturday morning from home. He built something real.
For Leo Morimoto · 9 Sept 2026
Read that he lived alone in Koenji for decades but kept his marriage. Honest, strange, and oddly moving.
For Li Weikang · 7 Sept 2026
She refused to just copy the masters before her, which meant she actually honored them. That philosophy changed how I think about my own work. Thank you for that.
For Robin Morgan · 5 Sept 2026
WMC Live made media criticism sharp and necessary. Her work there mattered.
For Edith Barr · 5 Sept 2026
Saw her once on a documentary about Peruvian music. The way she held the room. That's a gift you can't teach.
For Jacques Doucet · 31 Aug 2026
Heard he mentored everyone who came after him. That kind of generosity is rare in any field. Rest well.
For Hiroshi Okuda · 15 Aug 2026
The Prius wouldn't exist without him. That matters.
For Sally Kirkland · 12 Nov 2025
Over 250 credits and she never stopped working. That's the opposite of most people in this town.
For David Baltimore · 6 Oct 2025
Read about reverse transcriptase in bio class and thought it was impossibly clever. Sad to hear he's gone.
