Man I keep thinking about this one. Grew up in Kentucky so I wasn't a Bears guy but my uncle was and every Thanksgiving he'd put on the 85 Bears highlights like it was church, Ditka pacing the sideline with that mustache and the gum. 46 defense, Super Bowl XX, the Fridge getting the touchdown instead of Payton, all that stuff gets brought up but what I remember is just how much my uncle loved saying his name, like it meant something more than football. I think it was about being from a steel town and not apologizing for it. 86 years old. Edit: my uncle just called me, first thing he said was Iron Mike, voice cracking a little.

My dad called me about this, he's been in dry bulk shipping for twenty years and he always brought her up as someone who actually built something from nothing. Two secondhand Handysize carriers in 92 isn't a small thing to start with. That stuck with me even living out here.
