Born Farrokh Bulsara, Freddie Mercury was the lead singer of Queen and one of the greatest live performers rock has produced. He wrote Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody to Love and We Are the Champions. He died of bronchial pneumonia resulting from AIDS the day after publicly confirming his diagnosis.

One of a kind

My grandmother loved Freddie. When she died we played their work at the funeral. Now they're both gone. Strange how connected it all is.
