Isaac Newton set out the laws of motion and universal gravitation in the Principia, invented calculus, and showed that white light is made of colours. He was buried in Westminster Abbey.
“If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.”
Memories, thanks and farewells from the people Isaac touched.
A giant. We stand on their shoulders.
I keep coming back to this page. It helps to know so many others feel the same.
Isaac's work is the reason I became a scientist. I hope I can pay a fraction of it forward.
To the family: you shared Isaac with all of us for so long. Thank you. We're holding you in our thoughts.
My grandmother loved Isaac. When she died we played their work at the funeral. Now they're both gone. Strange how connected it all is.
The world is a little quieter today.
My dad introduced me to Isaac's work when I was a kid. We talked about it for hours. Today I'm thinking of both of them.
Gone too soon, even at any age. There was so much more to come.
Thank you, Isaac. For the joy, the honesty, and for showing up when it mattered.
This made me cry. Thank you.
This made me cry. Thank you.
I cried when I heard the news, and I'm not ashamed of it. Isaac was part of the soundtrack of my life.
Rest well, Isaac. The work is done, and it was good.
215 people are remembering Isaac here. Light a candle when words are hard. It stays here.
Be the first to give.
Sending love from the States.
