For Amos Pope Grizzard, Jr. · 8d ago

My mom called me about Mr. Grizzard this morning, I'm out here in Singapore and it still stopped me. Emporia Country Club wasn't the same without him walking the back nine.

For Annette Green · 18d ago

102. I don't really know what to say about someone who ran an industry for forty years and I never once thought about. My mum's whole perfume drawer exists because of a woman like this, I guess.

For Joseph Yegba Maya · 22d ago

"You should not see the centre-forward often, but when you notice him, he makes the difference." Never saw him play a minute, just read that line somewhere once and it stuck.

For David George Gordon · 22 Sept 2026

My mum called me in Lisbon just to say the bug chef died, she still has that cricket orzo recipe stuck to her fridge from 2001. I never tried it, still won't, but I'll never forget her reading me the tarantula line off the back cover.

For Bryan Kelly · 20 Sept 2026

Had the Magnificat in C queued up on a drive playlist of all things, English choral stuff on shuffle with a business podcast. Didn't expect to open the news app after and see 92. Strange little jolt.

For Amelinha Teles · 15 Sept 2026

Never met her but read about the Ustra case years ago and it stuck with me. A woman who turned what they did to her into law. That takes a particular kind of fierce.

For Mike McFarland · 10 Sept 2026

Master Roshi's voice was Mike McFarland's voice, and now that's just history. Rest well, man.

For Jeon Gyeong-cheol · 8 Sept 2026

A CEO who left the boardroom to write about love and rage and doors that wouldn't open. That's a career pivot I respect.

For Sudivya Kumar · 6 Sept 2026

A contractor who read the room, became the strategist, then the minister. Fifty-six is too young to understand your own leverage.

For Tadeusz Kasyanov · 6 Sept 2026

Master of Sport, stunt man, knife-thrower, federation president. One of those people who actually did the thing instead of just talking about it for fifty years.

For Reggie Bannister · 11 Aug 2026

The Tall Man's sidekick turned out to be the most human thing in any of those movies. Rest easy.

I saw that same interview, he talked about hanging upside down to think through plot problems.

So young. It's heartbreaking.
