Found Poruchik Golitsyn on a late night youtube rabbit hole last year and couldn't stop playing it, didn't even understand half the words at first. 95 years old. Didn't know anything about Russian chanson before this but that voice stuck with me.

my mom saw this on the news and just went quiet for a second. 40 years old, three kids, working double shifts to take care of them. that's so so sad man
For Bibhuti Pati · 5d ago
ok so this is random but i follow a lot of environmental journalism accounts for gardening stuff and this name kept popping up this week, Bibhuti Pati, Odisha, 54 years old, cardiac arrest. i didn't know him at all, never heard of him before honestly, but i read that Tehelka piece he did back in 2008 about corruption in some rural scheme and it was just good reporting, the kind where you can tell someone actually went and looked instead of just writing from a desk. anyway i don't really have a personal connection here i just think it's sad when someone spends their whole career digging into stuff that matters to regular people and then it ends like that, sudden, on a Monday morning. rest easy sir i guess, sorry if that's not the right thing to say
For Ana Lupez · 10d ago
so I was out mowing the back yard listening to a podcast and they mentioned Ana Lupez died and I had to stop and just stand there for a second. I only know her from that one clip of Las edades de Lulú someone posted a while back, not even the whole movie, just a scene, but it stuck with me. 82 years old. she said her biggest win was just getting to be who she always dreamed of being, which honestly messed me up a little thinking about it while I was out there with the grass half cut. anyway rest easy Ana, sorry this is long lol

he called his own childhood a "golden childhood." my grandad showed me that quote after he heard the news. just sitting with that tonight.

Bob taught me how to grow tomatoes in his backyard when I was maybe ten. Still plant a row every spring because of him.

just watched the Shared Bread clip again last week, the kids splitting that ration card. didn't even know her name until today

Nine scudetti. You don't win nine of anything without doing something right. Rest easy, sir.
For Iwan Setiawan · 8 Sept 2026
Never met him but watched him coach youth sides online. The way he pushed kids to believe in themselves stuck with me. Rest well, Coach.

Grew up watching him on telly with my grandpa. That catchphrase still makes me smile when I think of him.

My mom watched everything he was in. She said he made you believe in people you'd normally walk past. I'm thinking of her today too.
